Let’s start at the beginning. As a 25-year-old marketing and communications employee, I feel the pressure. The pressure of working a 9-to-5 job for the rest of my life, it gives me anxiety. Every time I talk about it with colleagues, I feel my heartbeat rise, especially when they tell me they’ve been working for almost 40 years already. How do they do it?
It’s not that I hate my job, I actually kind of enjoy it. But a 9-tot-5, for 40 years……. I can’t see myself doing that. So, with that in mind, I asked myself the question;
What is something that I really enjoy and could do for another 40 years?
What do you enjoy in life? A simple question, but it took me more than a year to pinpoint what it really was. I mean, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, but what else?
As I explored my interests, I often felt like I was jumping from one topic to another. Looking back, I’ve been captivated by a range of topics, including breathwork, homeopathic remedies, cupping, meditation, and astrology. My interests seem to shift along with my life choices. For instance, after coming off the pill, I became deeply invested in hormone balance. At the same time, I struggled with acne and focused on improving my gut health by experimenting with various diets—from AIP to gluten-free and dairy-free options.
When I’m drawn to something, I dive in deep. I immerse myself in it completely, reading every article available until I’ve satisfied my curiosity. Once I’ve learned everything I wanted to know, I move on to the next topic that captures my interest, leading to jumping from one thing to another.
People would tell me all the time: You don’t know what you want either, do you?
But I love it—I enjoy digging deep into a subject and then casually moving on to a different one. In my quest to find my true passion, I failed to see the bigger picture. These interests all share a common thread: they all relate to self-development.
That’s when I realized: why does figuring it all out have to be so difficult? What if there was a single place where I could read everything I wanted to know, without having to wade through all those boring scientific studies? That’s how I came up with the idea for a blog—a place where people can read everything about self-development. And if you can’t find what you’re looking for, I’ll figure it out for you, because that’s what I truly enjoy doing, especially knowing that it can help others.
So here it is: Tevolved, the blog that helps you evolve and become the best version of yourself. With topics about (mental) health, spirituality, sports, lifestyle, healthy recipes and more.
I hope you enjoy reading Tevolved and that it inspires you to further develop yourself. Don’t forget to check back regularly for new insights and tips. Do you have questions or suggestions for topics? Let me know by contacting me or leave a comment, I’d be happy to help!
